Gideon's Ranch

Gideon's Ranch Performance Horses is a small operation whose goal is to breed and raise reining and working cow horses that are capable of excelling at all levels of performance horse competition. The intent of our program is to be reputable and honest in all of our endeavors. We have carefully handpicked mares specifically bred that will produce foals capable of competing in today’s performance horse arena.      

The concept for Gideon’s Ranch came into existence when Bill Rogers and Greg Slaughter met through happenstance. Bill and Greg worked together for four years and through their time together discovered they shared a love for God and Jesus Christ as well as for horses. Bill had the opportunity to be involved with horses his entire life while Greg had not; but always wanted to be.

Bill Rogers served as a youth pastor for five years. He's been married for 27 years and has two wonderful daughters. For over 40 years, Bill has been involved in riding and breeding horses. His involvement with horses started with a single Appaloosa mare and later evolved into reining and working cow horses. He has owned and/or stood a stallion for 30 years and he's passionate about breeding horses that are bred to excel at specific events. Bill is always looking for that magic cross.

Greg Rogers was born and raised in Texas, and has been married 17 years with two outstanding boys. He was a Golf Professional for 17 years and is a current member of the PGA of America. Greg has always enjoyed horses and had an interest in being involved with them.

After much prayer and deliberation Bill and Greg chose to create Gideon’s Ranch. Combining Bill’s horse breeding knowledge and Greg’s business experience, they have developed a successful partnership.

"Making the most from the least” is the core concept of Gideon’s Ranch and is the slogan of the operation. Greg and Bill note that their philosophy is "to do business God’s way. You can have confidence in us always being honest and up front in all of our endeavors." The two business partners have made a commitment to always be reputable and honor their word.

  The objective of Gideon’s Ranch is to breed cutting, reining and cow horses that are capable of competing at all levels including Non-Pro to Open categories in performance horse competitions. We desire to be the best, not the biggest. We will always strive for continued improvement.
  
• Goals
  The goals of Gideon’s Ranch include boarding 18 exceptionally bred mares, 18 recipient mares and 5 exceptionally bred stallions. Our goal is to discover the next world champion performance horse blood line. As we accomplish these goals, we will also accomplish our financial goals by selling foals and standing our stallions.

Gideon's Ranch currently owns 5 stallions:

• Cool Wimp- sired by NRHA $1 Million sire and NRHA Futurity Champion sire, Wimpys Little Step.
• Smart Lil Dually- a proven NRCHA performer with multiple championship final placing's, with a pedigree that includes Smart Little Lena, High Brow Hickory, Dual Reward, and Dual Pep.
• RJ Olena- Homozygous Paint stallion sired by Montadocs Paint
• Right Starlight- 2007 Stallion sired by NRBC Champion Starlights Wrangler and out of Sophia White, LTE: $10,000+. In training with Shawn Flarida.
• Roosters Strutter- 2008 Stallion sired by NRHA $1 Million sire, Gallo Del Cielo.
